Fareth is a unseen character in Luminous Arc, the first game of the Luminous Arc series, that is referenced several times.

Background Edit

Fareth was the father of Nikolai and a studious researcher for the Luminous Church. Eventually reaching legendary proportions due to the success of his research, at some point about a decade before the events of Luminous Arc, Fareth's son Nikolai was selected to be one of the Garden Children.

Involvement Edit

As time progressed the increasingly strange nature of Fareth's experiments began to bother the Luminous Church. He began to dabble with the properties of life itself, and eventually succeeded in creating an artificial monster only named in the game as 'Brother?'. Some time before the events of the game Luminous Arc, Fareth was executed by the Luminous Church for his blasphemis experiments.

In Side Quest 11 of Luminous Arc, Nikolai visits a secluded home that his father worked at previous to his death. While at the home Nikolai meets 'Brother?' a talking monster that claims to be his 'brother' having been created by Fareth. Nikolai talks to the creature and in the process learns that his father had taken 'Brother?' with him to spy on the Ever Garden and Nikolai. He also learned that Fareth had treated the creature poorly, often beating it.

'Brother?' is unaware of the death of Fareth and comes to believe during the conversation that Nikolai is keeping him away from him, although Fareth is of course dead. When Nikolai tries to explain his father's death to the monster it results in it's denial and it attacking Nikolai. The attack is only thwarted by Leon who arrives just in time to help Nikolai fight off the creature. After they repel the confused creature 'Brother?' escapes away and they decide against following him.
